Florida’s coral reefs have suffered a devastating impact due to environmental pollution and other pressures, with 98% of the coral reef system lost. To support the restoration of this ecologically critical system, GBFI has partnered with the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation and Force Blue to harvest, farm, and replant coral reef throughout the Florida Keys. These efforts not only accelerate restoration of the coral reef system but also engage America’s Veterans in activities that support their transition into civilian life. By protecting and preserving the environment, Veterans have an opportunity to give back and be part of something bigger than themselves while protecting the greater good during their post-combat civilian life.
